THE BIG RIVER
by Matteo Vieille
With its 652 km length, the Po is the most important Italian river.
It originates in Piemonte and marks the border between Lombardia, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto, before flowing into the Adriatic Sea in a vast delta with 6 branches.
The Po Delta has been chosen as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its great environmental value.
